It is with great pride and privilege that I welcome you all to the 2013 season at Hoylake Golf Club.

I wish to express my thanks to Bill Rogers, Captain 2011, for nominating me, Geoff Hicks for his year as Captain 2012, Mike Down, Dave Denton and all the committee, not only for their help, support and guidance during the past 16 months, but also for their on-going hard work, time and commitment to the smooth running of the club.

I would also like to thank the President, Past Presidents, Past Captains and members of the Club for their best wishes, support and encouragement.

The Captain’s Drive-In will take place on 23^rd March and I look forward to welcoming you all! The early birds will be teeing off at 6.40am and later, at 9.40am, the guys who enjoy a lie in! Drinks and snacks will be available on the first tee before you tee off.

Just a couple of points to mention regarding tee times and matches. On a Saturday we have a number of pre-booked tee times for 4 players. If you are allocated one of these times and for any reason you are unable to play, then please cross out your name.  This will enable another member without a fixed time to fill the slot.

Weekly fixtures are posted on the Locker Room notice board and Club website approximately four weeks in advance. 

Singles and Pairs Knockout matches will take place during the season.  If you wish to enter, please put your name on the list of entrants on the notice board.

Wirral League matches take place on Wednesday evenings during the season. These are matches against Arrowe Park, Brackenwood, The Warren, and Ellesmere Port, on a home and away basis (good fun and a full belly will be had by all).  As before, if you are interested in playing then please add your name when the list appears on the notice board.

It is important to read the notice boards which are situated in the locker room and also to check the Club website.  This will help keep you in touch with forthcoming events, and any additional Club information.

Hoylake Golf Club has a thriving Seniors section for the over 60s, holding their competitions on Thursday mornings. The Seniors section is always happy to welcome new members and if you are interested in joining then please contact Mick Down, Dave Denton or myself.

The Club Day Out this year will be held on Friday 21^st June, at Childwall Golf Club, which is an excellent venue.  A notice will be posted on the notice board nearer the date.

The Captain’s Day Charity Medal will be held on Saturday 29^th June and my nominated Charity for this event is Prostate Cancer.

The President’s Day Charity Medal will be held on Saturday 27^thJuly with Finals Day and the Ryder Cup being held over the weekend of 28^th & 29^th September.

The Annual Dinner and Golf will be held at The Royal Liverpool Golf Club on Friday 1^st November.

Finally I would like to assure everyone that I will work hard and will always be willing to listen. Wishing you all good health, good weather (fingers crossed), good golf and a very enjoyable and successful year.
